Plein air
I enjoy walking in Northwood, Dartington. The stillness reminds me of childhood and the sun falling across the path of our own life journey with light and shade.
I began taking my oil paints, easel and board. A place would suddenly appear and I'd set up. I often found that I was standing in shadow but I had to be at that spot.
I try and work fast attempting to stay free, avoiding the "Fussing Devil" who tries to appear.
Painting in this way is like meditation for me. And like all meditation, it has its highs and lows.
